OPAL continues to be a huge success at Hayes Primary School!
On Friday 5 April the hall at Castlecombe was full of colour as we undertook our annual Easter Bonnet Parade.
The school council from Dorset Road were lucky enough to visit the council chambers last week. They met the Deputy Mayor who told them all about the important job he does making decisions to help the local community. They were impressed by his elegant robes and the very valuable golden mace. They spoke very confidently about their role within the school and how they have had a positive impact on decision making there. It was lovely to share their experience and make friends with 2 of the school council from Castlecombe Primary too.
Local schools are getting together to understand, get involved and build their community.
As part of our drive to maintain, promote and engage children's interest in reading, we celebrated World Book Day at Castlecombe Primary School on Thursday March 7th 2019.
We are delighted that the recent Ofsted visit to Castlecombe Primary School was very successful and the inspectors found that our school is a GOOD school!
Before Half Term, we launched our OPAL (Outside Play and Learning) programme.
The children are really enjoying all the new resources and with the help of Friends of Leesons and your support we will continue to further develop lunchtime play. Thank you for all your donations.
What a great start we had to British Values week here at St Mary Cray Primary Academy! (11/02/19 - 15/02/19)
We've had a great day celebrating World Book Day with wonderful costumes, activities and even a big donation of books from Morrisons Petts Wood!
We are very pleased to announce that Dorset Road continues to be a "Good" school!
We are delighted to announce that Hayes Primary School has again been awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM).
An outward looking and self reflective trust board that takes strategic planning seriously. Trustees believe that collaboration through supporting others is the best way to develop and maintain excellence. After consultation, the directors decided to set an ambitious strategy focussed on improving and growing a group of schools - exploiting the opportunities of the group model to develop staff and help other local children. Even though the trust is relatively young, trustees have used their experience of setting up a MAT to build staff capability and learn from others. They have developed new methods to use and evaluate pupil premium funding, leading to the Pupil Premium Award in 2016. The trustees are committed to reviewing their own practice and ensuring that the future of the board is not compromised by being too reliant on one or two individuals.
